Fiat 600D 1963

1963 LHD Fiat 600d with beige nappa leather interior
Offers in the region of £8500

This is the one that the Head Honcho really doesn’t want to sell!

It’s a lovely example of the Fiat 600D, imported from Italy so LHD. The upholstery and door cards are of biscuit nappa leather.

It’s mechanically very reliable and we much prefer the larger 600D to its smaller but much better-known cousin, the Fiat 500. It has a rear-mounted, water-cooled 767cc engine, which makes it quite nippy for 55 old car.

Absolute peach of a car and very few Fiat 600Ds around these days, especially in the UK.

More photographs to foillow.

1970 LHD Zastava 750 Pickup. One of a kind! Like a Fiat 600.
£4000 unregistered or £4500 registered.

Our Zastava 750 pickup (the Yugoslav equivalent of the Fiat 600d) is one of a kind. You won’t see many, if any, Zastava pickups this side of the Balkans and none at all with a paint job like this one.

This car has a chassis MOT and its original (Hungarian) paperwork and pre September 2013 bill of sale. Registration with DVLA can be made by the buyer or by us if the car is intended for road use.

This car is ideal as a promotional vehicle or show car rather than a daily drive.

Trabant P60s

Late 1950s P60 Trabant & Kombi. SOLD.

These were supplied for the Man from UNCLE movie and are pictured here at Leavesden Studios. They are now sold.

Toyota Will Cypha

Yours for £3000 unregistered or £3500 registered.

Here’s our lovely Toyota Will Cypha; a quirky ride from a design-inspiring period in Japanese consumer design.

If you buy this car you’ll not only be driving a really nice, underused & reliable Toyota car, you’ll also be driving a rare piece of Japanese automotive history that will increase in value over time, not reduce. Use it as a daily driver or a weekend/show car. It’ll get lots of attention. It’s a car ahead of its time; its styling cues influenced the Vauxhall Astra and Renault Megane.

The car was built in 2003 but you wouldn’t believe that to look at it or to drive it. We imported it from Japan late last year, paid the necessary duties, obtained clearance, undertook work on it for UK compliance and MOT. It passed its MOT on 22nd January this year.

We believe that the car had stood unused in Japan for a substantial period of time. This belief is due to the very low mileage, the perished but otherwise underused tyres and the ingrained dust & oxidisation on the paintwork that was evident when it arrived in the UK last November.

We undertook the following work (invoice provided as part of sale).

  • New front brake pads
  • New rear shock absorber
  • New battery
  • 4 new tyres
  • Full service including spark plugs
  • Rear fog lamp fitted & wired (not a requirement in Japan)
  • Underside waxoiled (the Japanese don’t use salt on their roads so rust is much less common on Japanese imports)
  • MOT on January 22nd this year

The car has been thoroughly test-driven on our trade plates since then and it performs faultlessly. It is such an effortless car to drive.

Parts, should it need any, are widely available & inexpensive as the Toyota Will Cypha is based on the Yaris chassis and running gear, including the famously good 1298cc 2NZ-FE 1.3 L I4 DOHC VVT-i engine. The engine is lively & responsive as you’d expect from this low mileage example. It has automatic transmission.

It has air conditioning, central locking, electric windows, electrically adjustable folding mirrors, remote release for boot and fuel filler cap & a digital dashboard.

The interior is in excellent order & includes “Will” embossed mats & heavy-duty rubber mats too. The rear seats are collapsible. Please see the distinctive circular design motifs in the interior, especially the dashboard layout and doors. This is really important: the car is completely original and is well looked-after! The unmarked wheel covers are embossed with the “willshop.com” logo, it’s properly carpeted. You simply won’t find a better or more original example. If this listing is being read by an aficionado/collector of Japanese cars, please bite our arm off now. You won’t regret it.

The blue/black seats are clean, comfortable and in very good condition as you’d expect from a low mileage car.

The speedo and odometer are measured in KM. An electronic “heads up display” can easily be acquired from eBay & elsewhere for less than £20 if you prefer MPH.

It has reverse parking sensors.

The Toyota Will Cypha was one of the 1st cars to have a touch screen multimedia system, which still works perfectly (but it’s in Japanese). It has a working radio, minidisc, 6 CD multi player & SD card slot for mp3 files. The minidisc works nicely, the CD player we haven’t got our head round loading yet & the mp3 player works with the existing card but didn’t recognise a much higher capacity newer one that we tried.

As with all Japanese imports the radios operate on a narrow FM frequency range so the only station you’ll get is Radio 2. However, we will provide a brand new bluetooth transmitter, free of charge, that enables you to play all media from your ‘phone: music apps like Spotify, iTunes etc. and online radio through the car’s audio via the bluetooth transmitter. The resultant sound quality is really nice & the car’s audio system is a good one. It also provides hands-free bluetooth ‘phone audio so you can receive calls on the move.

You could replace the audio header unit with a new one if you wanted to but that’s more expensive and will detract from the originality of what is a rare, important and increasingly valuable car in the UK.

The bodywork is very good. There is a minor dent on the left trailing edge of the rear door/leading edge of the wheel arch and a scratch to the corner of the front left valance. Both marks are not visible without close inspection and there is absolutely no rust anywhere.

Please note: The car is currently not DVLA registered so as to limit the number of owners listed on the V5C when it is issued. In other words, the buyer of this car will be its 1st listed UK owner. As soon as the car is paid for we’ll apply for registration, which usually takes the DVLA a couple of weeks and you will receive a V5C in your name. We’ll supply & fit registration plates so all you have to do is tax & insure the car.

We have a big network of very good specialist insurers for Japanese imports we can point you in the direction of. Please ASK! It’ll save you potential hassle and cost.

Japanese imports are routinely in much better condition that UK cars of a similar age. This is partly due to the lack of salt on Japanese roads and partly due to the Japanese culture of taking care of your own and others’ property. You rarely get door dings on Japanese imports. It’s a polite society. The cars are usually very clean too.

Nissan Cube (Can be driven without the use of legs)

£3500 unregistered £4000 registered

You have to be comfortable with the Nissan Cube’s quirky looks, but they’re not as rare now as they once were. That “once seen, never forgotten” boxy body translates into loads of interior space. The Cube is rightly listed as one of the 50 most influential car designs of recent times.

This example is the best we’ve seen by a wide margin. It looks and drives as if it were made in the last couple of years. Don’t forget: only 21,000 miles on the clock!

We imported it from Japan late last year. Whoever owned it treated it very well. The upholstery has never been directly sat on because it’s covered by Cube branded seat covers, which themselves are spotlessly clean.

This car is a “Welcab” adapted vehicle for use by someone who has no legs or is unable to use their legs. It’s just as easily driven by someone who is fully mobile.

The car has the usual accelerator, brake and footbrake pedals and it also has a hand lever to the left that acts as an accelerator, brake, indicators, lights and horn. It has a turning handle on the steering wheel to allow for single-handed steering by the right hand.

Each of the 2 front seats has a retractable step and there is a lifting arm and hoist built into roof of the car. So this car is a fully-equipped “Welcab” example, but it is also perfectly usable as a family car.

We’re not competent to comment on the functionality or appropriateness of this vehicle to anyone who wishes to buy it as a professionally adapted vehicle. However, we’ll gladly submit the car for assessment by any competent authority such as an Occupational Therapist or mobility equipment specialist.

The engine (remember 21,000 miles!) is Nissan’s UA BZ11 1.4ltr petrol used in the Micra. It’s lively and responsive. The automatic, column-mounted, transmission is smooth. We’ve fully road-tested this car using our trade plates and it performs faultlessly. It’s an easy car to drive with excellent all-round visibility.

It has electrically adjustable & retractable mirrors, fuel filler cap button, central locking, electric windows.

The car passed its MOT with flying colours because it’s been well looked after and little used. We fitted a rear fog lamp and waxoiled the underside of the car to keep it in the excellent order it’s in now.

This car has a multimedia audio system, including a CD multichanger and a DVD player, both of which work. It also includes touch screen satnav (won’t work here). As with all Japanese imports the radios operate on a narrow FM frequency range so the only station you’ll get is Radio 2. However, we’ll supply a brand new bluetooth transmitter, free of charge, that enables you to play all media from your ‘phone: music apps like Spotify, iTunes etc. and online radio through the car’s audio via the bluetooth transmitter. The resultant sound quality is really nice & the car’s audio system is a good one. It also provides hands-free bluetooth ‘phone audio so you can use your ‘phone, when it’s safe to do so, on the move.

You could replace the audio header unit with a new one if you wanted to but that’s more expensive and will detract from the originality of the car.

There is masses of interior space. Collapse the rear seats and see just how huge the amount of space is.

The speedo and odometer are in KM but a “headsup display unit” will cost you less than £20 if you need to see things in MPH.

The bodywork is very, very good.  There is a minor dent on the left leading edge of the wheel arch (see pictures). There is absolutely no rust anywhere.

Parts and maintenance are no problem as the Cube is based on Nissan Micra mechanicals and running gear.

Daihatsu Midget 2

£3750 (excludes private plate)

On the range from “quirky” to “bonkers”, where all of our cars sit, this one inclines more towards the bonkers end. I mean who in their right mind would buy a tiny pickup with a passing resemblance to a frog that has only one seat, which is located above the 660cc engine?

Well you might for a start, you’ve read this far after all so you’ve probably developed a horrified fascination for this frog-like mini pickup truck & you secretly like the idea of a multitude of astonished passers by having to pick their jaws up off the floor as you drive by.

Alternatively, you might have a business to advertise. No-one will ever forget seeing this little Daihatsu. It’s also perfectly serviceable as a very small commercial pickup that can find its way through the tiniest of gaps, turn on a sixpence and park easily.

This car is 100% UK road legal. It has 4 speed manual transmission + reverse. It looks hilarious with its frog eyes, huge spare tyre cover and truck mirrors. Truck mirrors on the tiniest pickup you’ll see!! But they look really great, as do the chrome bars. This, believe it or not, is the top spec version of the Daihatsu Midget 2. These are very few and far between and this example is easily the best we’ve seen.

It’s very reliable, has very nice alloy wheels, lots of chrome and is just dying to get to this year’s car shows. These little pickups are very rare, especially in the UK. This is a historically important example of a Japanese “Kei” vehicle and will appreciate in value over time if it’s looked after, which won’t be hard to do

You can buy the car with the private plate as well for an additional £500.

Toyota Will Vi

£4000 (Private Plate also available at additional cost)

Here’s our lovely Toyota Will Vi, one of 2 we have; a quirky ride from a design-inspiring period in Japanese consumer design. The car was built in 2000 but you wouldn’t believe that to look at it or to drive it.

If you buy this car you’ll not only be driving a really nice, underused & reliable Toyota car, you’ll also be driving a rare piece of Japanese automotive history that will increase in value over time, not reduce. Use it as a daily driver or a weekend/show car. It’ll get lots of attention. It’s a car ahead of its time; very few were made & there are fewer than 20 of these in the UK

It has air conditioning, central locking, electric front windows, remote release for boot and fuel filler cap & is hardwired for a dashcam, including reversing camera.

The retro interior is in excellent order & includes “Will” embossed mats. The rear seats are collapsible. This is really important: the car is completely original and is well looked-after! It still has its original “sand dollar” wheel trims, it’s properly carpeted. You simply won’t find a better or more original example. If this listing is being read by an aficionado/collector of Japanese cars, please bite our arm off now. You won’t regret it.

Toyota Soarer Z 40 (Lexus SCV430)

Toyota Soarer Z40 Convertible. You might think this is a Lexus SCV430!
£8000 without private plate

If you did think this is a Lexus 430SCV, well you’re sort of right. It’s exactly the same car but was badged as a Toyota Soarer for the Japanese domestic market.

It’s a beautiful, graceful car to drive and you don’t see many of them. People often remark on how beautiful the car looks with its pearlescent white paintwork and tan leather interior.

The retractable hard top does exactly what it’s supposed to do making this a lovely summer convertible car.

It has a 4.3ltr V8 engine, a lovely exhaust note and is no slouch in the fast lane. This is a very, very good example with only 80k on the clock. Newly replaced cam belt and full service by a Lexus specialist.

You could use this car as a daily driver or garage it for shows, and to watch your money grow.

Wartburg 311 1964

We owned this lovely Wartburg 311 twice. It appeared in the “Man from UNCLE” movie (see the YouTube clip below) but is now sold.

Enjoy this short trailer and see the same Wartburg in a car chase, doing a “donut dance” with a Trabant and crashing (you’ll be relieved to know there were 3 of these used in the movie, so this one wasn’t trashed)

Trabant 601 Kombi

£5000

Someone once told our Head Honcho that the Trabant was the “worst car ever made” so he immediately bought one based on that recommendation. Of course, such statements are meaningless as cars are products of the circumstances under which they’re made and the Trabant was a tough, durable and functional car made from what a relatively unsuccessful state-controlled economy could manage.

This is one of the best examples you’ll find in the UK, having been completely restored some years ago. These cars have a cult following in the UK and Europe and an active network of enthusiasts and sources for parts. Talking of which, it only has 5 moving parts. It has a 698cc 2 stroke engine and gear-mounted gear lever. It is reliable and easy to maintain.

It’s a hoot to drive and attracts much attention. It can be used as a daily driver or for shows, advertising and promotional work.

Fiat 500 Giardiniera

Two of our Fiat 500 Giardinieri & a Fiat 124 SOLD.

Toyota Will VS 2004

This Toyota Will VS is currently on its way to us from Japan and completes our lineup of Toyota Will models.

We’ll add details as we get them but we know this is a low-mileage example with a 1.8ltr engine.

What amazes us about these cars is the futuristic design language. The Renault Megane and Vauxhall Astra borrowed much from these cars but who’s ever heard of a Toyota Will VS? Well you have now, they attract particular attention and are hard to find so keep your eyes open for more information including arrival date and price.

Wartburg 353 “Knight”

One of the last of our cars from the Man From UNCLE movie (this was supplied as a static prop). The quirky 2 stroke, 3 cylinder Wartburg 353 was sold to a film production company so it’ll be interesting to see her back on the silver screen.
